Travato on Long Beach ~ Great way to spend a beach afternoon!
We enjoyed the Long Beach Peninsula last weekend! And, yes, it was sunny the whole time!
Highlights (besides being able to use Travato on the beach as our “beach house” one afternoon)…
Where we stayed: Long Beach RV and Camping Resort
What we saw: Cape Disappointment State Park ~ which is NOT a disappointment!
Where we ate: Salt Hotel and Pub ~ So good we went back the next day!
We are saying goodbye to Fidalgo Island today. We have enjoyed using Anacortes as a home base to explore the San Juan Islands and Salish Sea area of the Pacific Northwest. We had also rented a beach front home over the holidays to host our family and friends. These pictures are of our last sunset and sunrises the last two days. We will miss this view! We are very thankful for the time we had here!
This past weekend we explored Lopez Island. In the past month we have traveled to three of the San Juan Islands…Orcas, San Juan, and now Lopez. We enjoyed them all and would return to any of them. However, Lopez really stands out! Some of the nicest beaches we have seen in the area! Especially if you enjoy beach combing as much as we do…agates, shells, and sea glass!!
Since it is winter, Spencer Spit State Park was closed. We enjoyed Agate Beach County Park, Upright Channel State Park, and Odlin County Park. Odlin Park has some waterfront RV parking, too!
We have had the wonderful opportunity of visiting Deception Pass State Park several times in the past month. It is a great place to visit on a sunny winter Washington day! Actually, we went on a few less than sunny days and even in the rain it is nice.
Note: Quarry Pond is the only campground that is currently open during the “winter season”.
