Shake, Rattle and Roll

Earthquakes in Hawaii today…

We were very close to the stronger earthquakes (the red and orange in these pictures), so we were rocking and rolling today! Having been through several earthquakes in California over the years, I was surprised the biggest earthquake today was not stronger than 5.5. We REALLY felt it here! We are safe, just a bit shaken up literally and otherwise.

 

Washington to Florida…Again!

Yes, for the past three years in a row we have made the journey from Washington state to Florida. Interestingly, it seems to happen about the same time in the Autumn each year. This is never planned, although it seems to be a routine now. Sometimes it is a bit meandering, this year it was done in less than two weeks!

 

Now we are hanging out in Florida recovering and may stay a while…then again, you never know with us! 😉

We have been enjoying time with family and friends and plenty of time in the water!

Cinco de Mayo

We had a lovely Cinco de Mayo with family, friends, yummy food, music, multiple bald eagle sightings,  a walk on the beach and finished the day with a colorful sunset and a cozy campfire!

Fidalgo Island

We are saying goodbye to Fidalgo Island today. We have enjoyed using Anacortes as a home base to explore the San Juan Islands and Salish Sea area of the Pacific Northwest. We had also rented a beach front home over the holidays to host our family and friends. These pictures are of our last sunset and sunrises the last two days. We will miss this view! We are very thankful for the time we had here!

B-Class Camper Vans

After a couple years of researching online and looking at the outside of them on the road and at various campsites, we actually spent some time the past two days looking at them up close. We also looked at one smaller C Class (for comparison purposes…laughs).

We liked the E-Trek features of certain Roadtrek models, they are like the ultimate boondocking B Class. And we love to boondock! We like the windows and open feeling of the Winnebago Travato.  Windows are important! We like the work station feature and the general appearance of the Airstream Interstate.  Then they showed us the Pleasure-Way Lexor!  We had not really considered a Pleasure-Way prior to today. Certainly a very nice B Class!  Ultimately any of them would work well!

Florida

Washington to Florida…again in 2017!

In 2016 when we started our RV adventure we left Washington with a goal to get to Florida (actually the Florida Keys) by the end of the year and we did…just not all the travel happened in our RV. And here we are again finding ourselves in Florida…again not in our RV. But, hey…our goal is to experience the serendipity of life and travel…and it is all good…regardless of the how, why, and when…sometimes even the where.

If this year has taught us anything…and it has taught us a lot…it is this…

Love matters.
People matter.
The rest is just stuff.
Stuff does not matter.

Enjoying spending time with family, friends, and the Atlantic Ocean!
